Kindred Oaks Collective's mission is to inspire a lifelong love of learning and empower students to become independent and innovative global citizens through hands-on, interdisciplinary explorations. Students are supported in their creative, intellectual, social, and emotional growth, and encouraged to build a deep connection to community and the natural world.
Our school’s education philosophy is based on Project-Based Learning and Montessori principles. These methods promote hands-on learning, self-directed discovery, self-confidence, and the students’ sense of ownership over their education. We teach STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) through thematic, inquiry-driven projects.
At Kindred Oaks Collective, student inquiry leads the way and every student’s questions and ideas are valued. Our educators embark on the learning journey alongside students, and they ensure every student’s voice is celebrated. Our students build a deep sense of community by working collaboratively across age groups in the classroom and by participating in community projects outside of the classroom. Our students further explore curricular goals through field trips and with visiting guest instructors.

Kindred Oaks Collective was born from a deep passion for helping children learn in uniquely meaningful ways. Our founders, experienced educators, have spent years perfecting a teaching methodology designed to provide authentic opportunities for growth. We are proud to be a Denton-based school, committed to serving our local community.
Where We Come From
Our elementary program is for students ages 5 to 12 years old and it operates year-round, from August to July, with breaks throughout the calendar year. The main goal of this program is to foster a love of learning that engages the whole child. We believe in carefully balancing intellectual and academic growth with social, emotional, physical, and artistic development
Our Program
“Every student can learn, just not on the same day or in the same way.”
Our teachers bring a collective 25 years of diverse educational experience to Kindred Oaks Collective. Their backgrounds are broad, including certifications in Montessori and Project-Based Learning, as well as extensive time spent in progressive, traditional, and homeschool collective settings. This wide-ranging expertise is unified by a shared philosophy: a deep commitment to real-world learning.
They believe that education extends far beyond the classroom, and that learning is most powerful when it's rooted in the community. They are passionate about the potential that comes from working together to create positive change. This collaborative spirit defines our school's culture.
At Kindred Oaks Collective, our community is like a family. We prioritize our students and their families, fostering strong, meaningful connections with everyone. This supportive, family-like environment is the foundation upon which we build our students’ academic and social growth.
